Gavin Kellar’s analogy for the Brain
Behaviour of Reptilian Lizard Brain (Marufd)
- Mindless
- Automatic
- Reactive
- Uncontrolled
- Fast
- Dirty
Limbic Brain is represented by an Elephant in this analogy (RuRu) and it’s purpose is to feel like it belongs and is loved. Community creatures who communicate, are about relationship.
- Recognise
- Understand
- Regulate
- Use our emotions for growth
Emotions are like children, they are the inner part of ourselves. They are like little children who tug at our skirt until they throw a tantrum. Then we have to pay attention. So when we recognise and acknowledge the emotions then we can tuck the trunk away and let’s us access the rest of our brain.
Pre-frontal cortex part of the brain is the CEO called TOPWIFE representing the characteristics that are available to us when we have all the parts of our brain online.
- Time Management
- Organisation
- Prioritisation
- Working Memory
- Impulse Control
- Flexibility
- Empathy
If we pay attention to the actions we can see what part of the brian we’re operating from.
What is the point of view I’m currently holding. What is the thought, feeling I am experience.
Intention – what do I want my intention to be? How do I want to show up?
Secret of Change is to use your energy not on fighting the old but on building the new.
HeartMaths – Inner Ease Technique
Living our best life or being our best self to show up.
(Knowledge + Skills ) x Attitude (lizard / elephant / CEO) to the power of TEAMWORK (or not)
Point of View = my knowledge + my skills
Viewing Point = our knowledge + our skills x our attitude to the power of teamwork
